My father, Stafford ( Bunky ) Baxter was in Ceylon from the age of about twenty-two, in 1925 . He started as a “creeper” with Tuppy Laing on Malgola estate, Dolosbage and then took over management of Mossville.
In 1959 he joined the Shaw Wallace group as superintendant of Derryclare and later of Adam’s Peak estate as well.
He and my mother Thea, retired to Perth, West Australia. My father passed away in 1975 and my mother in 2010.
I live in Tasmania, after a working life in West Australia. I have a wife, Lynne, a son and daughter. Between them we have four grandchildren.
I wish you every success with the book launch and will be happy to assist further if you need. For your information, I have your contact through Richard Doudney, Ceylon Association .
