Prior to the 2004 Asian tsunami, these five Palmyrah palms stood sentinel at the mouth of the mahaseelawa lagoon. This was a truly beautiful place at any time of the day.The 10m seismic waves that hit this coastline on the morning of the 26th of December, uprooted all five palms and changed the National Park's coastline forever, Nowhere is this change more evident than here at Mahaseelawa, near the park entrance.
