This stone lion by the side of the stairway, is depicted on the Ten Rupee note. Yapahuwa An ancient fortress and capital built in the early 13th century. Rock carvings flank the long steep staircase to the top of the rock. Yapahuwa is a rock rising to a height of 90m.
